The original native floors in this home were unfortunately too rough and patchy to refurbish. The homeowner was keen to maintain a traditional native floor, so we suggested using 12mm reclaimed overlay rimu flooring. These boards are milled from old weatherboards or structural framing. After laying the floor, we sanded it flat and applied a water-based polyurethane, which really brought out the natural beauty of the wood.
